Rules of SJS public school

School Uniform

Students must be attired in the prescribed school uniform when attending assembly, class or a school function and whenever they come to school during school hours. The prescribed uniform is as follows:

Wear the Complete Uniform: Students must wear the full, correct uniform at all times, including shirt, pants/skirts, socks, and shoes.

Clean and Tidy: The uniform should be clean, ironed, and in good condition. It should not have stains, tears, or visible damage.

Appropriate Footwear: Only the approved shoes should be worn, typically black or brown, and they must be polished and in good condition.

Neat Hair: Hair should be clean, neat, and styled according to school policy. Long hair should be tied up for girls, and boys should have short, combed hair.

Minimal Accessories: Students should wear only minimal accessories, such as small stud earrings or a simple watch. Excessive jewelry, makeup, or distracting items are not allowed.

Fee Rules

Fees must be paid for 12 months, during which the pupil’s name has been carried on the register even if the pupil has been absent during these months. Fee may be paid in advance for the whole year or term. The fee payment structure is divided into four quarters- April to June, July to September, October to December, and January to March. The fee for the 1st quarter shall be remitted between 5th to 20th of April, 2nd Quarter between 5th to 20th of July, 3rd Quarter between 5th to 20th of October and the last Quarter between 5th to 20th of January. Fee defaulter of any quarter shall pay the fees with late fee of Rs.50/- per quarter. Parent are requested to pay school tuition fees on time to avoid inconvenience to themselves and to others. Special fees are required to be paid along with the fee for the first quarter in April. No reduction of fee is made on account of midsummer and winter holidays or other vacations of temporary advance. Students with school fees arrears, are liable to be debarred from taking the terminal examinations and attending school till the fees dues are cleared Neither the reports nor transfer certificates will be issued till all accounts are fully cleared. No special waiver or concession will be given to students whose younger or elder siblings are also studying in the school.

Admission Fee: Typically a one-time fee paid at the time of admission.
Admission Fee ₹2,500 only one time.

Tuition Fee: Paid annually, quarterly, or monthly, covering the cost of teaching. Tuition Fee: ₹1,200 per month

Development Fee: Some schools charge this to maintain infrastructure and provide educational facilities. Development Fee: ₹500 per month

Activity Fee: Covers extracurricular activities such as sports, music, art, etc.

Laboratory Fee: Applicable for schools that have science labs and practical subjects.

Rules of the Library

1. The students must maintain silence in the library.
2. One library card will be issued to every student, which is not transferable.
3. One book is issued for a week and, the student should return the book within a week, otherwise fine is levied.
4. Duplicate card will be issued only on payment of Rs. 50/- Every child should return the card before the term ends. A book can be re-issued only twice. Every class has a library period and only in this period books will be issued. It is compulsory for every student to read books from the library. Any loss or damage to the book will be realised along with a special fine.

Student responsibilities

1. To be pupil-friendly and well-behaved in and outside the school.
2. To be honest and truthful whatever be the cost.
3. To accept whatever work and responsibility given to you, with cheerfulness, and to face difficulties with courage and determination.
4. To be courteous like sportsmen to the opposing team and to the officials on the playground.
5. To wish your parents, masters, teachers and those you ought to wish everyday whenever you meet them.
6. To show gentlemanly behavior at all times and all places.
7. To respect your own property as well as that of school and also the property belonging to others.
8. To be bold to say ‘No’ when asked to do a thing which you think and know to be wrong.

Parents responsibilities

1. Parents are expected to give the management and the staff their whole hearted and willing co-operation in all matters pertaining to the education of their children.
2. Parents are informed that occasional reports and recommendations from teachers are made in the school calendar. They are requested to sign them as proof that they have read.
3. Parents are particularly expected to sign the terminal reports or any other similar documents when so required.
4. Complaints, if any, should be made to the Principal and not to the class teacher.
5. Parents must understand that they cannot dictate to the management and that the management has a right to admit or retain pupils of their school.
6. No pupil will be allowed to remain absent from games and physical activities without note down from a doctor which is to be renewed every two months.
